Ten Stay-Ups That Really Stay Up

What’s the most important difference between stockings and hold ups? Easy: the top silicon band. Hold ups, also called stay-ups, have an elastic top band that supports the stockings, which helps them stay in place. But, do all stay-ups really stay up?

If you’re used to wearing hold ups, you’ll agree with us that feeling your stockings sliding down is the worst nightmare! So, we’ve put together a list of 10 Stay ups that really stay, no matter your budget or what you do while you wear them. Because your hold ups should stay in place all day long!

Sizing is an important factor choosing stay-ups that really stay up

Bear in mind that sometimes the whole reason why your stay-ups aren’t staying up is wearing the wrong size. So, it’s very important that you check out our size charts for each product and brand. If your hold ups are too short, they aren’t likely to stay up. On the contrary, if your hold ups are too long or too loose, they will feel baggy.

  1. Hi Wesam!
We could only name 10!! hehe
Levante hold ups have really good reviews, so they can’t be a bad option. We can’t tell about Hanes, because we don’t stock that brand, I’m afraid. Thanks for your comment.

  2. Question for you: I don’t want to spend a fortune on sheer hold-ups (they are usually quite sheer and delicate … so don’t get so many wears out of them) … are there a cheaper brand WITHOUT a lace top / welt?

For instance, your number 10. Wolford Flavia Hold Ups … I like these because of the plain top / welt … but wow!, they are expensive (I know they are Wolford, so they are probably awesome).

    Thanks!

  3. I regularly wear Wolford hold ups that fit perfectly well to the body even if I perform many movements. One exception, when I wear hold ups (black fishnet) over nude tights, my stockings then slide very easily on the tights. And so in these circumstances, I use a garter belt to hold the hold ups

  4. When you wear two layers, wearing a garter belt seems a safer option, just to make sure they stay in place. Good tip, Corsair!
    Thanks

  5. Hi there!
Yes, any Wolford hold ups are just ideal. You can find here a selection of flat top sheer hold ups from as little as £6.99. If I can just recommend one style, I think the Trasparenze Capri Hold Ups are a lovely product. They look pretty much like the Wolford Individual 10, for half the price 😉
Feel free to reach our Customer Service or Social Media team on Facebook, Twitter, etc. for more recommendations as well!
    Thanks
